It's fully glazed like any other modern crockery, so as long as you wash it in warm soapy water, there will be no flavour transfer.

The ones we sell are made by an artisan Spanish manufacturer, although a version of these plates is available in many Mediterranean countries.
They are known as a garlic plate, a garlic rasp, a garlic grater. They come in different sizes, but we just sell the little one.
